The West Orange High School bands perform annually in the NJ School Music Association week-long Concert Band Festival held in the third week of March. This is the 20th year of the festival and we are attending the Verona night on Tuesday, March 20. It is a wonderful off-campus performance opportunity where all bands are professionally adjudicated and given feedback and awards.
The festival on Tuesday evening will feature eight concert bands. The evening starts at 6 pm and our Ninth Grade Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Winds, and Wind Ensemble will all perform during the evening.
Tickets are $10.00 at the door in the Verona High School auditorium lobby.
We will be leaving on school busses from WOHS at 4:30 pm. Please have your child bring dinner to eat at the festival. At the conclusion of the Awards Ceremony, we will return to WOHS at approximately 10 pm.
Girls’ concert attire is ALL BLACK. This can include black pants, blouse, dress or skirt that falls to the knee, and black dress shoes. No bare shoulders or straps. Proper hosiery is encouraged.
Boys’ concert attire is a collared long-sleeve WHITE SHIRT, long dark tie or bowtie, BLACK PANTS, black socks, and black dress shoes.
